We stand on the shoulders of early cartoonists! The drawings, topics and freedom to express through humor are all there. The humanity in Heath’s drawings resonate today as they did when he drew them.
On the 11th of June, 1825, the first issue of the magazine, the Glasgow Looking Glass appeared. It was created and illustrated by William Heath and printed by a Glasgow lithographic printer, John Watson. Check it out at these links:
